Betty Jane Wagoner, 82, of Milan, formerly of Adrian, died Aug. 22, 2008, in Ann Arbor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ruth Baughey; first husband, Robert Cunningham; second husband, Ralph Wagoner; infant son, John Edward Cunningham; and brother, Ralph Baughey Jr.
Mrs. Wagoner is survived by her three daughters, Mary (Darrell) Hall, Margie (Gary) Patton and Susan (Andrew Harrell) Wagoner; eight grandchildren, Michele and Ron O'Neil, Chris and Noel Patton, Michael and Crystal Tautkus, Jannie and Shawn Terry, Jennifer and Carey Feeman, Christopher Wagoner, Kevin Wagoner, and Katie Wagoner; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack (Nancy) Baughey; and one sister, Gladys Sue (Tom) Prange.
Mrs. Wagoner retired as the resident hall office manger for the University of Michigan, East Quad, and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ypsilanti. Interment followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Adrian.
The family received friends at the Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home in Milan.

MARY H. HECKMAN
Saline
Mary Harriett Heckman, 90, of Saline died Aug. 22, 2008, in Troy. She was born Dec. 25, 1917, in Connellsville, Pa., to Jacob and Kathryn (Russell) Yocum.
She was a Saline resident for the past 46 years. On Nov. 1, 1940, she married Eugene W. Heckman in Clairton, Pa., and he predeceased her March 29, 1974.
Mrs. Heckman graduated from McKeesport High School in McKeesport, Pa., and moved to Michigan with her husband and daughter in 1946. They moved to Saline in 1962 and have resided there since.
She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Saline Post No. 322, and the First United Methodist Church of Saline.
The Heckmans had two children, Kathryn (Gary) Hughes of Charlotte, N.C., and James W. (Carol) Heckman of Troy, who both survive her, as do two grandsons, Scott (Rhonda) Hughes of Simpsonville, S.C., and Kevin (Vickie) Hughes of Charlotte, N.C.
She is survived by a brother, Robert (Becky) Adams, and a sister, Barbara (Ronnie) Hulbert, both of Brooklyn.
She was predeceased by five brothers, Russell Yocum, Lloyd Yocum, Walt Adams, Charles Adams and Jack Adams, and one sister, Frances Yocum.
A funeral was held Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church of Saline. The Rev. Laura Speiran officiated. Burial was at the Oakwood Cemetery of Saline.

CHERYL LYNN BROOKS
Milan
Cheryl Lynn Brooks, 54, of Milan died Aug. 23, 2008, at home. She was born Oct. 18, 1953 in Ann Arbor, to Herbert Springer and Helen Scott. On Oct. 22, 1971, she married Randy Brooks, and he preceded her in death May 24, 2007.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by her daughter, Angie (Bob) Straub; son, Randy Brooks; seven grandchildren, Kayla Brooks, Ryan Straub, Danny Brooks, Britney Brooks, Amber Straub, Katlin Brooks and Kassidy Brooks, all of whom she loved very much.
Also surviving is her father, Herbert; step-father, David Jennings; three brothers, Dave, Jimmy and Mike Jennings; and three sisters, Vicky Jennings, Patty (Rex) Schultz and Sandy (Dennis) Jewell.
Mrs. Brooks will be deeply missed by her family.
In addition to her husband, Randy, she was preceded in death by her mother, Helen; brother, Jeff Jennings, and infant brother, Thomas.
Visitation was Wednesday at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home in Milan. A funeral will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at London Cemetery.
CLYDE LEO MITCHELL
Annapolis, Md.
Clyde Leo Mitchell, 89, died March 5, 2008, at his home in Annapolis, Md., after a bout with the flu. He was born Sept. 11, 1918, in Milan, to Carl Mitchell and Hilda Shannon-Motter (Nina Barnum birth name).
Mr. Mitchell leaves one son, Dennis Clyde Mitchell of Annapolis, Md.
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by one brother, William Robert Mitchell (1916-1985) of Fresno, Calif., and his wife, Evelyn Culliford (Mitchell) (1922-1996) of Cardiff, Wales.
Cremation has taken place. Burial will take place noon Sept. 13 at Marble Park Cemetery in Milan. Friends and family are invited to attend.
