Saline Parks and Recreation adult softball registration is open for the fall leagues beginning the week of Sept. 8. Monday and Wednesday evenings are men's division, while Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings are the co-recreational divisions. All players must be 18 years or older. Teams play seven weeks of double headers. The team registration fee is $245. A $75 deposit can be placed to hold a spot. For more information or to register, call 429-3502.

Friday, Aug. 29

Deadline to register for Youth Flag Football offered by Saline Community Education. The league is open to boys and girls entering third through sixth grades. Games will be played Sunday afternoons starting Sept. 21. The fee is $70. Deadline is at 4 p.m. Registration forms are available online at www.salinecommunityed.com or they can be picked up in the Saline Community Education office. Call 429-8020 for more information.

Red Cross blood drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at St. Joseph Mercy Saline Hospital, 400 Russell St. To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-448-3543.

Tuesday, Sept. 2

In-person registration begins for fall story times at the Saline District Library. All parents of preschoolers are invited to sign-up for the first session 9 a.m. in the library's youth department. Those interested in registering for the Library Book Babies Storytime may also sign up Sept. 2. Telephone registration for all story time programs begins Sept. 3 during normal business hours. All story times begin the week of Sept. 15 and run for six weeks. For more information, call the Saline District Library Youth Department at 429-5450.

Thursday, Sept. 25

Horseback riding lessons are offered by Saline Community Education. Class will meet from 6 to 6:30 p.m. every Thursday at the Cedar Ridge Equestrian Center. The fee is $72. Register with Saline Community Education online at www.salineonline.org or by calling 429-8020.

Friday, Sept. 5

Adult Flag Football deadline to register. The fee is $75 per person. Only team registrations will be accepted. Registration forms are available at www.salinecommunityed.com or they can be picked up in the Saline Community Education office. Call 429-8020 for more information or to register.

Second annual Spaghetti Dinner at St. Andrew Parish Hall will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Homemade meatballs will be given to the first 200 people. Dinner includes spaghetti with meatballs or vegetarian sauce, salad, garlic toast, beverage and dessert. It's sponsored by Saline Knights of Columbus Council 6674 as a fundraiser. Adults eat for $8, senior citizens for $7 and children 10 and younger for $4.

Monday, Sept. 8

Saline Stingrays Swim Team will be offered by Saline Community Education. It's for children of all ages who are comfortable with swimming freestyle or backstroke for two lengths (50 yards) of the competition pool. The fee is $225 for one child, $205 for a second child and $185 for a third child. Monday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Oct. 17

Get Fit, Stay Fit, formerly known as Fitness AM, will be offered by Saline Community Education. It's a one-hour, low-impact cardio workout for all fitness levels. Classes meet from 9 to 10 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Union School gym. The fee is $63. Seniors 60 years and older may be eligible for a 50 percent discount. Friday, Oct. 24

Driver's Education Part 1 will be offered by Saline Community Education. The class is open to students who are 14 years and 8 months old. Classes are held at Saline High School. The morning session meets from 6:50 to 7:40 a.m. and the afternoon session meets from 2:45 to 4 p.m. The fee is $235. Monday, Sept. 8 through

the last week of October

Martial Arts for Children after school will be offered by Saline Community Education. Classes will be held at each Saline school five minutes after school is out and will last for one hour one day a week. The fee is $110 and additional family members will be charged $82.50 per person. Martial Arts for Adults will be offered by Saline Community Education. Classes will be held at from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Liberty School. The Coterie Newcomers will hold its kick-off meeting at Weber's Inn in Jackson Road in Ann Arbor for prospective and current members.
