INE Now through Sept. 3 Saline Parks and Recreation adult softball registration is open for the fall leagues beginning the week of Sept. 8. Monday and Wednesday evenings are men's division, while Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings are the co-recreational divisions. All players must be 18 years or older. Teams play seven weeks of double headers. The team registration fee is $245. A $75 deposit can be placed to hold a spot. Thursday, Aug. 14 Young at Art Art Show, an exhibit of children's artwork from Art Van Go, 212 art camps and classes, will hold an opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. The exhibit will run through Aug. 28 at 212 W. Michigan Ave. in Saline. For more information, call 944-2787. Thursday, Aug.14 through Friday, Aug.15 "Mirror Image and Air Dogs" will be offered by Saline Community Education. Students entering seventh and eighth grades can register for the computer safety class. It will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Saline Middle School Media Center. The fee is $25. Register with Saline Community Education at www.salineonline.org or by calling 429-8020. Friday, Aug. 15 The Second Date art show will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. in downtown Saline. The show will be located on the second floor of Murphy's Crossing. All artists are invited to bring two to three pieces to show and sell. Artwork will be hung on the day of the show from 1 to 5 p.m. Artists must attend the show and are responsible for their own sales. Spotted Dog Winery will offer free samples of its favorite wines, and Becky and Paul Pazkowski will provide music. The event is hosted by artists from the Two Twelve Arts Center and the Saline Downtown Merchants' Association. Monday, Aug. 18 through Thursday, Aug. 21 Horseback Riding Camp will be offered to children ages 5 through 17 by Saline Community Education. Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cedar Ridge Equestrian Center from. The fee is $205. Registration forms are available online at www.salinecommunityed.com or they can be picked up at the Saline Community Education office. Call 429-8020 for more information or to register. Monday, Aug. 18 through Friday, Aug. 22 Saline Kids Camp will be offered at the Saline Recreation Center for youth ages 5 through 12. The theme will be "Blast to the Past." In addition to daily swimming, sports, crafts and games, the campers will be taking a field trip to the Greenfield Village on Wednesday. The camp hours are flexible from 7am-6pn daily. Friday, Aug. 22 Movie in the Park will take place at Mill Pond Park. It's a free community event. The feature presentation of "Ratatouille" will begin at sundown. Activities and concessions will start at 6 p.m. The movie is sponsored by the CARES millage and AAA Michigan. This is the last movie of the summer. Participants will get involved with mind-boggling instant challenges, improv games and team-building activities. This program is for students entering first through ninth grades, and will run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The fee is $15. All sessions will take place at Liberty School. Register with Saline Community Education at www.salineonline.org or by calling 429-8020. Saturday, Aug. 23 Former Sharon Valley 4-H Club members will hold a reunion Aug. 23. Wednesday, Aug. 27 Saline Fire Station blood drive will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh 110 pounds and be in good health. Call 429-4440 to schedule an appointment. MILAN Thursday, Aug. 14 The fourth annual Pancake Supper will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. as a fundraiser for the Milan Senior Center. The event will be held at the Milan Senior and Community Activity Center, 49 Neckel Court, in Milan. Cost is $6 per person, and $5 per person younger than 5 and older than 60. The Concert in the Park will be held at 7 p.m. Fiddlers ReStrung will perform. For more information, call 439-4310. Saturday, Aug. 16 Friends of Milan Public Library Book Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in downtown Milan at Main and Wabash streets. For more information, call 439-2714. Wednesday, Aug. 20 The eighth annual Milan Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing will be held at Pineview Golf Course on Stony Creek Road. Cost is $90 per player, which includes 18 holes, cart, snacks, and a chicken or steak dinner following, as well as the awards banquet. Those who don't want to golf but want to sign up for the dinner pay $30 per person. Call 439-8801 or 439-7932. Friday, Aug. 22 Friends That Care is hosting a steak, chicken or salmon dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Tri-County Sportsmen's League. Eat in or takeout available. All proceeds from the event will go to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Milan-Saline. Saturday, Aug. 23 Spaghetti Dinner to help Milan Hometown Heroes will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Milan Moose Lodge, 14484 Sanford Road, in Milan Township.
